2016-2017 Online Nomination Form (Use this link to submit a nomination directly to SMART)
Please help us identify your amazing students!
SMART receives over 200 referrals from our partner referral sources (public schools and community-based organizations) for 25 - 30 student placements in the 4th grade. Our candidates demonstrate strong academic potential, motivation to succeed, and curiosity for the world around them. The students and their families must show a strong commitment to participate fully in this intense eight-year program (5th - 12th grades).
There are three ways you can refer students to our program.
1) Fourth Grade Entry (most typical): Families must be current 4th grade students, commit to a San Francisco based program, and qualify financially (typically enrolled in free or reduced lunch program).
2) Alternative Entry - Sixth Grade: Students must be currently enrolled in a private school, and can commit to a 6th - 12th grade program. Acceptance dependent on availability of space within a cohort.
3) Alternative Entry - Ninth Grade: Students must be currently enrolled in a private high school, and can commit to a 4-year program. Acceptance dependent on availability of space within a cohort.
