Nominations and Applications

Nominations for 4th-grade applications are now open for 2025-2026! The Interest Form is not the application, but is the first step in getting contact with you! This form may be filled out by an interested parent/guardian or a nominating teacher, community organization, or mentor.
Parents/Guardians: Before completing an interest form, please check to make sure that your family qualifies for SMART. In order to qualify for SMART, your family must meet the following criteria:
- The student is a current 4th-grade student (2025-2026 school year)
- The student will be within the first generation in their family to graduate college (parent/guardian has not graduated from a four-year college in the U.S., but siblings may have).
- Your family meets SMART’s income qualifications.
- Your student must attend the mandatory in-person summer program from June 15th – July 24th, 2026.
Teachers: If you are unsure if a family qualifies, please nominate them and SMART will follow up with the family to confirm.

To begin the application process:
STEP ONE: Fill out the interest form here. This form may be completed by teachers nominating students, or by parents/guardians to indicate interest in applying for SMART. Teachers may nominate as many students as they would like.
Next Steps. Once you fill out the interest form you will be sent the full application via email. The application deadline is April 10th. Please complete the Interest Form (step one) in order to receive the application. It is also required to attend an information session. Please sign up for one here!

¡Las nominaciones para las solicitudes de cuarto grado ya están abiertas para 2025-2026! El formulario de interés es el primer paso en nuestro proceso de solicitud. Este formulario puede ser llenado por un padre, madre o tutor interesado o un maestro nominado.
Padres/Madres/Tutores: Antes de completar un formulario de interés, verifique que su familia califique para SMART. Para calificar a SMART, su familia debe cumplir con los siguientes criterios:
- El estudiante es un estudiante actual de cuarto grado (durante el año escolar 2025-2026)
- El estudiante será un graduado universitario de primera generación. Esto significa que el estudiante estará en la primera generación de su familia en graduarse de la universidad (pueden tener hermanos que se hayan graduado de la universidad o estén en la universidad, pero ninguno de los padres se haya graduado de la universidad)
- Su familia cumple con los requisitos de ingresos de SMART.
