Paul
has been a member of the SMART family since 2006 as a volunteer tutor;
he began as a full-time Program Coordinator in July of 2009. Paul has
worked as a corporate recruiter, placing staff in top-ranked
architecture, venture capital and law firms. Most recently, he's worked
as a Program Associate for Summer Search, a national leadership
development program that helps low-income young people graduate high
school, go to college, gain successful careers, and give back to
society. Paul grew up in Colorado and Massachusetts, and while
attending a variety of private and public schools, he developed a keen
understanding of educational inequity. He believes that the achievement
gap in education can be narrowed by affording opportunities to
motivated students from underserved communities: SMART affords those
opportunities while fostering a spirit of altruism and community
involvement.
Paul has traveled through Southeast Asia, Europe
and Central America. His spare time is spent reading, cycling, running
(two marathons so far) and playing basketball. In 2004, he received his
Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Northeastern University.

“Independent schools are
constantly
looking to attract
an
applicant pool that is
diverse
in terms of
geographic,
socio-economic,
and
racial differences, yet
they
struggle to find qualified
applicants
who meet the
rigorous
entrance
requirements.
Recently,
SMART
has emerged as an
outstanding
resource for
private
schools in this regard.”
